To all the creative souls out there, have you ever consider publishing your work online? To share your musical compositions, your arts, your texts or your opinions with the rest of the world? If you did, you probably noticed the advantage it gave you. If you’re hesitating, let me prove you how it can change your performance.
First, let me explain how sharing my works changed me. I started publishing in Secondary One with one of my friends on this application called Skyrock. We were both responsible for the writing. We published little stories and reviews of shows we watched. It was a fulfilling experience. People liked our texts and sometime messaged us. Thought I did get that one Nigerian Prince asking me to travel across the world… We didn’t get a lot of views and likes but it was a start. Though, we eventually stop doing it for some reasons.
Then, I found the Wattpad's site, where people publish original stories and fanfictions. I created an account and started publishing my fanfiction. It was highly motivating to see people react to my work and ask for the next chapter. I then began to write more often to please my readers. By doing that, it help me improve my writing skills and increased my will to write.
Of course, there are negative sides about it too. Sometime, you can receive harsh critics or plain mean comments. As you know, everything on the internet can be access by everybody. Sometime, there are people who are just not here to compliment you on your work. Like drawing, youtube video, music or writing, if you put it on the web, it is a possibility that you will receive hurtful comments.
But even if you receive such commentaries, you can’t be bothered with it. Those people should not scare you and end up your talent sharing. Bestow your art and ideas online, make your creativity and interests known to the world. You will not regret it and the experience can change your life.
Here are a few links to sites used for that purpose,
