Tatoo

Last week, an important event for a community that I loved happened here in quebec.
The 11, 12 and 13 of may, the 4th “ART TATTOO QUÉBEC” took place. The art tattoo quebec
is an important convention where artist from all around the globe (but mostly from canada)
come to tattoo their fans or just tattoo lovers. This wonderful convention was created in
quebec by the excellent tattoo artist Pierre from TattooMania, based in montreal. Even
though this kind of events happen everywhere in the world, and that since a long time ago,
this was only the 4th edition of the Quebec one. At “Le Terminal” (near the port of Quebec)
120 tattoo artists united themselves to create a magical event. They were from everywhere.
From Toronto, Belgium, France, Australia, New-Brunswick, Quebec to of course St-Jean sur
Richelieu. Here are some of the activities that took place beside artists having clients
and bands playing to give a nice relaxed feel to the place.

First there was a tattoo contest. Each day, clients who had been tattooed by one of the
artists present at the convention could go compete against the others for best tattoo.
For each day of convention there was another winner. The tattoo of the day needed to be
started and completed during the convention opening hours (to give the same chance for
everyone).

Other than that took place something less “tattoo-y”, but still very enjoyable and we
can mention that assisting to it that was free. All the artists who had some kind of real
background in graffiti where invited to paint live in front of the visitors. This is a
great way to introduce some people how might be reticent toward the world of tattooing.

Anyway, if one day you have a chance to go to a convention like this I really recommend it.
You’ll surely see me there next year!
