Materialism, a
devastation!

Every day, you consume and you
can do nothing about it. The society we have lives because of it but for which
cost? Is the vision of materialism really good for our society? Well, it is not
because it is unfair when everybody does not have the same luck about the way
to make the same amount of money. But except the fact that this system is
inequitable, it is disagreeable when we think about the children, the economy
and the environment.
First, the vision of materialism harm the children
because we make them trust the only way to be happy is about having a good
salary so you can buy whatever you want. In the head of an adult, I think much
of them want their children to have a better “fate” than them. What they do not
know is by teaching them that the success and happiness are mostly present when
you possessed things, they doom them. Moreover, you are not happy when you
receive something, you are only happy if you choose to be. Your feelings are
not about your environment, they came from you and only you could choose how
you are doing. Therefore, this perception could be a threat to the humanity.
Second, materialism is economically harmful to all of
us because it incites you to buy product. There are not secret, only at Canada,
94% are in debt and 35% of them are in serious debt. Some of them might have a
low salary and have difficulty to buy their rent but what if they were
conscientious about being dependant about quality. Furthermore, they would buy
apartment, food, toys, car and service at lower price. Maybe it is not an
obligation to have more cellphone than the number of the family member. (I know
that some people could not live without it more than one day. I am sure you
know someone.) This is why physicism is not enjoyable to our economy.
Third, this movement is bad for the environment
because like the name says, you need more material. Now, some of you who could
be worried about all the jobs relate to activity not so much useful. Well, that
means less time of work because we will need to split the time of job. And what
do we do about the money? I think about it and like I said before it couldn’t
work in our economic system because you will not have enough cash. That is why
if something like that happen, we will have to change it. The reductions of the
number of game or possessions you have do not mean you have nothing to do.
After all, our ancestors survive without Facebook and video game. They were
pleased with some society game and real friends.
