I’LL GIVE YOU MY FAVORITE BOOK
I had read a lot of books in my life but i had never found one that was an all-time favorite. I searched a long time for the one that would melt my heart. Without a doubt, i can now say that my heart has been conquered by I’ll give you the sun. Jandy Nelson is an unknown genius and clearly knows how to create a beautiful story.
This story is about a twin-boy named Noah and a twin-girl named Jude. Being teenagers and losing their mothers makes them change a lot throughout the years. They both want the same things but times changes them and makes it harder for them to communicate. The story between this brother and sister is beautiful and shows every problem that faces a teenager. They are both artistic and that creates an really peaceful and magical environment. Of course, being brother and sister is not always easy and life makes them do things that they regret but they can always get through it. Future, friends, sexuality and spirituality are themes that are really well-addressed for the audience in this book.
This book made me cry and laugh out loud, what more do i need to say? It is simply beautiful and really underrated. There is not a single thing i would change about it because i was captivated from A to Z. Jandy Nelson is obviously a really talented writer and we can see that in this book. Yes, it’s well written but it’s not why it’s breathtaking. She plays with the characters so well and makes them grow throughout the book and the years. She has an imagination without limits and you can feel it in every page. The spiritual aspect of the book is also something that we don’t see enough in Young Adult novel. This book is very inspirational because of that aspect.
You have to read this immediately if you like reading even a little. It’s simply so inspirational and refreshing. It’s going to make you laugh and cry in the same page i promise you. I can’t say how in love i am with this book.
