The group of seven
As you may know, this year, the G7 summit is coming to La Malbaie, Charlevoix. The G7 is a group constituting of some of the most powerful countries in the world, they are: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The G7 bring the leader of these countries to discuss the world major issues and try to find a solution for them. Of course this event will put Quebec and Charlevoix on worldwide spotlight. In counterpart it will unfortunately bring a lot of security issues. The fact that seven of the most powerful world leader are all grouped in the same spot is, as you can guess, really dangerous for their own security and local citizen security. More than 8000 police officer are expected to be deployed. The cost of security is 400 million dollar distributed between Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Public Safety and National Defense. During this event, a lot of people will take an opportunity to express their way of thinking so there’s a probability that you will see many manifestation through the city.
