We

People who have the least are usually the ones who give the most. We who have an education, we who have food on our table each day and a roof over our heads we who don’t necessarily have to work everyday to survive have it all. Yet we always want more. We are always complaining, for every small thing, that doesn’t go the way we thought it should have and rare are those who are honestly contented and happy with all they have.

The people that I met this last week on a trip with my family and friends to dominican republic gave me the chance to meet all these amazing people who work everyday with a smile on there faces, never complaining about anything. This one guy named Calvin works the morning shift from six am until twelve and the night shift from five pm until one, everyday to support his family of three and pregnant wife.

Never once did I see him without a smile on his face. He was always signing and dancing making people smile and is probably one of the most down to earth person that I have ever met in my entire life. Here my family and I were in the middle of paradise complaining because it was so hot and that our feet hurt from walking so long on the hot sand on the beach. It’s ridiculous. We are so unappreciative of the things and experiences that we have until we get a wake up call to see how good we have it.

All of the people that I met even if I don’t get the chance to meet them again have changed my life each in their own way and I am forever grateful to have met such amazing souls on my trip over there.
