Various artists from all around the globe, with similar or different genres, will go up on the stages and make a performance in front of massive enthusiastic crowds.
For eleven days, stages will be put up all over the Old City, with decorations and sponsored stands. The Plaine d’Abraham battlefield, an important historic monument where, centuries ago, England’s and France’s soldiers fought for the land, is transformed in an enormous outdoor stage where thousands of people can fit and enjoy the music of the most popular artists in the world. Other stages are located at different spots like the Hydro-Québec stage situated at the place D’Youville, where in winter folks go ice skating, in summer you can hear international music performs, or at the Loto-Québec stage, in the Parc de la Francophonie, where various enjoyable styles can be heard. For the occasion, in the evening, the grand street that citizens call «Grande-Allée» is closed to cars, only allowing pedestrians to safely go walk by. The street is full of life during the summer, with its beautiful terraces, music and walk path. A joyful vibe is sensed during the summer in Quebec.
In the past, the Festival had welcomed many musical legends and great artists like the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Sting, Lady Gaga, Charles Aznavour and numerous others. They bring also to the public many musical discoveries and talented artists that are worth going to see.
This year, we will be expecting The Weeknd, Avenged Sevenfold, the Foo Fighters, Neil Young, Future, Shawn Mendes, Lorde, the Chainsmokers and a myriad of others.
The tickets, a chip bracelet and a badge, are already on sale to the price of a hundred dollars, on the Festival d’été de Québec’s website.
