SUMMER FESTIVAL 2018

This year will be the 51st anniversary of the ‘’Festival d’Été de Québec’’ in other words a summer music festival happening right here, in Quebec. The festival usually lasts 11 days and this summer it’s from July 5th to July 15th. The music festival is recognized for his diversities in music genres and each year invites a lot of different popular artists to come sing on their stages. The big names for this year are Foo Fighters, The Chainsmokers, Shawn Mendes, Neil Young, The Weeknd, Lorde, Future, Avenged Sevenfold, Beck, Dave Matthews Band and Camila Cabello. Even though the setlist can change anytime, these names will surely be performing if there’s no unexpected emergencies. As you can see in the performers names, the administration of the event seemed to have wanted to reach the younger generation including a lot of pop culture artists. Contrasting with last year where more rappers such as Migos and Kendrick Lamar came. For the rest, they also included the Foo Fighters which their show was cancelled the last time they came, in 2015, because of the dangerous weather this night. The rock genre also seems to be one of the popular requests coming for the public. In 2017, a lot of rock bands came to sing on the main stage such as Metallica, Muse, The Who… Even if this year focuses a lot on rock and pop culture, the ‘’FEQ’’ is still an amazing opportunity to discover a ton of artists and having the chance to attend a ton of concerts at a affordable price.
