In honor of their last school trip with Saint-Charles-Garnier, on the first weekend of May, the graduates will be taking over New York City. So here are the top must-see, must-do, attractions to do in the Big Apple. Take your bags and follow us.
Firstly, get of the train at Grand Central Terminal. Buy a ticket and hop on the ferry so you get your first raw look, with your own eyes, of the acclaimed icone of the metropole : the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France in 1886, to celebrate the centennial of the Civil War.
Next, walk towards Time Square, the place of light, screens, theaters, exploding New Years, numerous stores and yellow taxis. Grab one of those and go to the source of the American economy: Wall Street.
Then, after a excursion between the massive historic buildings, go take a breathe in the peaceful Central Park, in Manhattan, an immense garden in the middle of teeming city, where blissful walks can be taken, with lovely artificial lakes and colourful trees.
When you feel refreshed, climb theEmpire State Building, or just take the elevator, which offers a grand look on the whole city. When done, dive in whole different cultures in Chinatown and Little Italy, a big part of New York’s history, going back in the past to the massive immigration of various ethnies during the 20th century, creating multicultural quarters.
In the evening, go down Broadway, and go see a play in one of the most famous theaters in the world.
The day is done, still so many things are left to be seen : the National Union building, multiple museums, Brooklyn bridge, the 9/11 Memorial, Lincoln Center. But no worries, you can always come back.
