Mr.Winter's Conference
In the afternoon of the 5th of april, all of the secondary 5 had the unique chance to see a conference given by a german survivor of the 2nd World War. Harold Winter spent his entire childhood stuck is the fascist regime and prisoner of a military camp.
During all the hour and thirty minutes, we could hear him talk about his own experiences and his own point of vue of the worst and most cruel conflict that has happened on this planet. He told us the awful stories of what the war was really like as a resistant of Hitler. Mr.Winter was able to share the pain he felt and must still feel with us, the memories of hiding jews from the police to being hit by an american plane and being one of the 14 survivors of 44 at only 14 years old. This type of exposure to cruelty often scar for life, we should thank Mr.Winter for the braveniss he needs to harm himself to share those painful moments with us and help the younger generations to understand better the inhumanity of this war.
The respect which this man deserve is infinite. Being against Adolph Hitler in Germany was, at the time, an incredible crime. Moreover, him and his family were able to go against his orders and take care of the people the most wanted. We need to take him as a hero and thank him for the courage he was able to provide.
