Breakfast at Les Cousins

By Romane Gauvreau

The coffee shop Les Cousins is situated in the heart of Cartier street. It is the perfect place for people to enjoy good food, local products, and some nice art. It’s in a peaceful ambiance that I got to taste some of their finest products.

As you enter the place, you are welcomed by a very cute setting and a big counter full of appetizing pastries. The hardest part is definitely to choose what you want to order. Their menu includes simple things such as muffins and cinnamon buns, but also some dishes that are perfect for lunchtime or even supper. I had a temptation choco-poires and a Provencal bun. I really enjoyed both, but unfortunately, the Provencal bun that was served to me had passed the expiration date… They apologized for the lack of freshness of the product and replaced it immediately. That incident made me kind of unsure about if I should or not eat the new bun they gave me. I decided that a misstep could happen to everyone and that a one-time incident did not mean that the whole place could not be trusted. I don’t regret my choice because it turned out to be excellent.

The service I got was good and the waitresses answered quickly and well to my problem. I would recommend this coffee shop because the food was really good and not too pricey. The location is also accessible and you are close to a lot of interesting places for activities. So, despite the little inconvenient I encountered, it is definitely worth the try for your next date or friends reunion around coffee.
