A small café featuring local elements

An artistic breakfast

On Friday 23rd, Romane and I went to get a lovely breakfast in a small café called Les Cousins.
As Romane explained, it was a good experience that we will both try again in the future. Located
on the famous, artistic and touristic Cartier street, the store is a few meters away from the new
museum pavilion Pierre-Lassonde and other art related buildings. That is why the owner decided to
open her boutique-café there, so she could feature local cuisine and artists to the tourists and local
world.

Right when you walk in the restaurant, you can also see that it is a boutique as well. In the right corner
of the room, you can catch sight off many shelves filled with amazing products. Mainly from the Québec
region, they represent some of the finest, based on the owner’s taste. You can find anything, from the
truffles of Christophe Morel to their homemade jam.

Since their goal is clearly to highlight local culture and flavors, they also sponsor artists from Québec.
Every month, they get a new painter to loan them its favorite masterpieces so they can put them up on
the wall. In addition to making their store pretty, their customers can get to know artists from various
town near them. When we visited the café, it was Chantal Jane Garant’s turn to expose her beautiful
and colorful paintings.
