Most committees, like the political committee, started last week. In this blog, I will point out one that not many people think of. We will discuss the yearbook committee.
Like the name says, it’s a group of volunteers who choose to help making the yearbook for the secondary five students. They have got to choose the color of the front cover, the organization for the pictures and the text of the student (typeface, size). They couldn’t ask for advice from other students because the album is a surprise.
An incredible number of students try to be there, almost 30. Mr. Tessier from the French department has organised a selection where the students have to do a text which says why they want to be here and what they could do for the team so we are sure they are motivated. Finally, less than the third of them have done it. Therefore, eight people are on this committee.
The yearbook is not only about choosing colours and pictures. The biggest challenge is to make it right so the students are surprised and happy to see all their activities and memories they will have about school. In this committee, you have in mind that most of the secondary five’s will keep it and show it to their future kids so it could be good if the pictures are great after all these years.
