Amongst the numerous extracurricular activities offered by the college, one in particular strikes the fancy of a few students. Even though not many join the club, it is more because of its less flamboyant popularity compared to those of some other clubs (such as any sport proposed or, for example, the scenography committee) than anything else, really.
All the members of the Writing and Creation Club join with one goal in mind: to discover new literary genres, to learn how to write in different styles, and to have fun all along! There is no place for boring grammar classes or long sessions of correction: in that club, you write however you want, and have a great time while doing so.
Whether you have talent for writing or not is of no matter in this club. People join because of the occasion of learning and to share their creativity with fellow students that enjoy the same kind of activities. It is the perfect place to learn, grow, and even make new friends!
This year, the Writing and Creation Club is held by Maxime Turbide, a student from Université Laval and who has a Master in the teaching of french. He has a BAC in literature, specializing in creation, and has been proposed to lead the activity by Marianne, the previous responsible of the Writing and Creation Club.
Many subjects are broached during the meetings -which are held once a week, each thursday, at dinner time-, and all styles are encouraged and explored: poems, texts, opinion texts, stories, haikus, descriptions, etc. Imagination is the sole limit imposed in this amazing extracurricular activity! And if you’re afraid of the writer’s block, then don’t be! All ideas, even the most ridiculous or “weird”, are welcomed!
