by Héloïse L'Homme and Rosalie Thérien

August 31 2017, Saint-Charles-Garnier welcomed the new students of secondary 1 for their first day of school, which is a big step for them. There was also 10 “Pairs aidants”, who are students of secondary 5, to welcome them as well.

Students and parents went to the “Salle Jean-Paul Tardif” for different speeches from the staff such as the principal, Marc-André Séguin, and the director of pedagogical services, Manon Drolet. The president of the school, Juliette Picard and other members of the AGE, also gave a speech.

After naming the members of each classes, students joined  their respective groups with their tutors to talk about the school rules. The annual rally took place around 10 am in order to help secondary ones find their way around the school.

A snack was offered in the cafeteria to conclude the first day of school of the 2017-2022 cohort of Saint-Charles-Garnier College.

Even if the secondary 1 were really nervous about this huge step, they were happy to be there and they loved their beginning of they year and they can’t wait to accomplish more and more at Saint-Charles-Garnier!
