Procrastination Is Over

This August at Saint Charles, we witnessed the arrival of brand new mini computers to replace the mastodons of the cart. We indeed now have Chromebooks to assist us in our class work, and what a joy it was to finally get rid of the slowness that were the old ones. We can now browse our Classroom in a record time, and we don’t have to wait a whole period for our documents to open, which makes the students’ productivity rate raise.

The Chromebook was firstly introduced by Google in 2011, and since then, many companies such as Acer or Lenovo sell them. They are directly linked to the Internet and are very easy to set up. Also, Google Drive is included in the computers, avoiding the loss of files from lack of backups. The College acquired more than a dozen of them during the summer, saving for another cart the older HP and Asus, and now everyone in the school wants to get a taste of these flashy mini devices.

We can now work quickly and efficiently with those electronic beasts by our side. The cart in itself, though, is still the same, and even if a bit unstable, he works just fine to charge and keep safe the Chromebooks of Saint-Charles. But who knows, maybe next year the 311 will have new computers too!
