Cross-Country Provincial Qualifications

On Saturday October 14th, was held the second stage of the cross-country provincial qualification. Like last year, we had to run on the Baie-Saint-Paul Recreational Center’s field. Six students from Saint-Charles-Garnier were there to happily represent the school. They had to qualify after the first race.

Early in the morning, our sec 1 and 2, Emma-Jeanne Marchand and Victor Curodeau ran a 3km. Emma-Jeanne finished 29th and Victor 6th. It was a tough race.

Right after, when the sun came out, our only Cadet, Florent Genest did very well. He ended up 16th. He said he could have done better if he didn’t got a belly cramp during the race.

The fourth race of the day was our last masculine runner, Torben Johnson. With the longest distance of the entire meet, Torben did a really good job finishing 14th.

Romane and Béatrice raced a 5km. They raced under the hot sunny time of the afternoon. Both happy with their results, they finished respectively 1st and 6th.

We are very proud to say that three of our athletes qualified themselves to the scholar provincial cross-country championship of next saturday. Victor, Béatrice and Romane are going to proudly represent the Quebec and Chaudière-Appalache delegation.

We wish all of our school athletes a nice end for their sport’s season.
