Black Bench Mystery

While they are doing a lot of construction, they are painting some walls and benches. You have probably noticed that the fifth floor benches are now black, but do you now why?

We did a little investigation to learn more about this . All I’ve managed to know is that they painted them in black so they would be more beautiful and in harmony with the other colours.

After having learned that, I decided to make a quick survey by asking some students if they thought it was better like this. Most of the people told me that they found it better-looking in black than in red. A few told me that they’ve just not noticed that it has changed colours. A few others told me that they found it less beautiful in black than in red. And finally, two people told me that they found the red beautiful at the beginning, when Saint-Charles was “jeune d’esprit”, but the red wasn’t beautiful anymore and it was time to repaint those benches. So, they found that it was a good idea to paint them in black.
