Saint-Charles’s New English Teacher

by Rosalie Massicotte and Anne-Frédérique Pellerin

As you may have heard since the beginning of the year, there are some new teachers this year at Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier. For the purpose of the blog, we decided to interview one of them which is known as Mr. Mcdonnell.

James McDonnell by his full name, was born and raised in Great Yarmouth, England. He always wanted to travel and explore the world. Mr.McDonnell decided to follow his dream and started to visit places all around the globe. While he was traveling, he started to help non-anglophone people who wanted to work in an English environment -- for example ; doctors in India -- because he felt like what he was doing was good and helping people he had the idea of becoming and English teacher. It’s in New-Zealand that he thought about coming to Canada next and this is why he ended up here.

On a more personal side, Mr.McDonnell is a sport lover, especially soccer. He also plays the guitar and he sings a little. He is also the father of a little girl and a fiance.

At the end of the day, Mr.McDonnell is a father, a teacher, a future husband and a traveler. We really wish him an amazing year teaching at Saint-Charles.
