Our 2017-2018 Student Council

Since it’s the beginning of the year I thought it would be a good idea to give students a little heads up on who their student body is for 2017-2018. After asking them a couple of questions and assisting one of their meetings, it’s easy to say that they are all very competent and hard-working people who all have one main goal, make this year, which for some will be there last year of high school, one of the bests.

First off we have Juliette Picard, who was elected last spring with the majority of the votes student body president. She’s the intermediary between the students and the direction. Her main goal this year is to represent the students with the best of her capacities and to create projects that the majority of students will love. She is described as being a very opened minded person who loves her school and since she was in the student council last year, as the second cycle representative, she definitely has the experience. Her favorite subjects include, history, physical education and science. To finish off, we should not be disappointed with our president this year, her charisma and dynamic personality, plus the motivation that her and the rest of the council has, should make this year memorable.

Second we have Victor Thériault our sport director. Ever since secondary one, he has shown excellence both in his school work and sports, excelling in everything he tries including going for student council this year. His job is to take care of everything sport related including the events. The reason why he decided to go for student council is because he wanted to increase the level of competitivity and the way everything was organised. His favorite class is physical education which is no surprise and finally to describe Victor is a few words, he is very outgoing and a good listener, also an over achiever which are all qualities to look for in a good sport director. He says that everybody in the council gets along very well and that it should be a very fun yet successful year for

everyone.

We then have Laurent Porter our arts director. His job is to take care of everything art related. Compared to real politicien, we intend on keeping our promises he said. Laurent wanted to be part of the student council because he’s always done a lot for the school and there’s no better way to be implied in the school and make a difference then to be part of all of it. His favorite classes are music where he practices piano and physical education. In a few words he is ambitious, creative and thorough. From his point of view, the council's energy is great this year.

Torben Johnson was elected by default but that does not affect in anyway the dedication he has for his school and the hard work that he intends on doing this year. He is in charge of the quality of life and communications for the school. He decided to be part of student council this year to challenge the status quo and also because he intends on going into politiques latter on. To describe Torben in a few words, he is a very hard-working and passionate person. His favorite subject is physics and his dynamic, creative and introverted personality should add a great touch to the council.

To finish off we have our second cycle representative, Elizabeth Laroche. She is the voice of the secondary three and four students. She decided to go for student council this year because she wanted to bring changes to her school and what better way to get something done then to do it yourself. Her favorite subject are arts and knowing elisabeth, she is a very sociable and kind hearted person. She is well loved by students and she describes the harmony of the council to be very good and a lot of fun.

Finally we have our first cycle representative. He will represent the secondary one and two students. He decided to go for student council because he wanted to get involved with his school and Juliette our president, also asked him if he was interested. His favorite subject include physical education and math. He is described by many to be very confident, funny and there for others.
