Is There Still a Place for Art?

CSCG Arts Survey

This year, our school is being subjected to a lot of changes and among all those changes, some of you might be wondering what’s happening with the art department.

First and foremost, the number of art classes decreased quite a lot, forcing teachers to make smaller projects to, at least, see more than one technique each term. This can be disappointing for people who love this class, but there is a lot more ways to get artistically involved! For instance, a novelty this year is the art program, proposed to students from secondary one to three. The program offers its participants four additional courses, for a total of six classes per cycle.

For people who aren’t part of the art program, the art teachers are looking for passionate students who could, after the renovations are finished, help them set up the G.A.G. (Galerie d’art Garnier) and personalize the school. While we don’t know if the G.A.G. will work like it did last year, teachers would still like students to get involved and make their mark.

For the moment, the best way to help is to give us your ideas by answering this quick survey.
